Given:

sinx=-1/2 and cosx=-√3/2

To Find:

The value of the x.

Solution:

1) The values of the sin and the cos given in the question are negative.

2) As we all know very well the values of sin and cos is positive in the first and the second quadrant and are negative in the third and forth quadrant.

3) So the range is the value of x is from (180° + ∅, 360° - ∅)

4) Hence the numerical value of sin is 1/2 and we all know that is it possible only when ∅ is 30° and that of cos is √3/2 again as per the trigonometric table the ∅ must be 30°.

5) So, the values of the x can be 180° + ∅ and 360° - ∅

        x = 180° + 30° and 360° - 30°

        x = 210° , 330°
