1 kg = 1000g

So, 1kg 500g = (1000+500)g = 1500g

NOW,

Cost of 1500g item = Rs 100

Cost of 1g = Rs 100/1500

Cost of 1000g = Rs 100/1500 × 1000= Rs 66.67

And we know that 1000g = 1 kg

Therefore,cost of 1 kg item = Rs 66.67

GIVEN: Cost of 1kg500 gm quantity is 100

TO FIND: How much cost will be of 1kg

SOLUTION:

With 100 rupees a person is getting a quantity of 1Kg500 gm.

And we need to find how much rupees will be charged for purchasing a 1Kg item.

As in 1Kg, there is 1000 gm.

So, in hundred rupees he gets a total of  1000+500gm. = 1500 gm

Cost of 1 gm = \frac{100}{1500}

Cost of 1000 gm or 1 Kg = \frac{100}{1500} × 1000

                                         = 66.66

In this question unitary method is used as first we need to find the price of 1 gm then we can see the cost of the required amount.

So, 1 Kg item can be brought for 66.67 rupees.
