Volume by volume percentage can be found as
100/500*100
=20

The amount(mass) of alcohol (solute) = 100 ml   (given)

The amount(mass) of water = 400 ml   (given)

So,

The total mass of solution = mass of alcohol + mass of water

so,

mass of solution = 100 ml + 400 ml

                           = 500 ml

Now,

To be found :

The concentration of the solution

We know that,

\bf Concentration\: \:of\: \:solution =\frac{Mass\: \: of \:\:solute}{Mass\: \: of\:\: solution}\times100

\bf Concentration\: \: of \:\:solution =\frac{100}{500}\times100

\bf Concentration\: \: of \:\:solution =20\%

∴ The concentration of solution = 20%
