hlw mate....

10 - 3p + 4 = 4p + 4 + 9
-3p -4p = 13 -10 -4
-7 p. = 13 -14
-7p. = -1
7p. = 1
p = 1 / 7

Check:
L.H.S. =10 - 3 *1/7 + 4
= 14 - 3/ 7
= (98 -3 ) /7 = 95 /7

R.HS. = 4*1/7 +4+9
= 4 /7 +13
= (91 +4)/7 = 95 /7

hope it heps u.

10 - (3p - 4) = 4( p + 1) + 9 \\  \\ 10 - 3p  + 4 = 4p + 4 + 9 \\  \\ 14 - 3p = 4p + 13 \\  \\ 14 - 13 = 4p + 3p \\  \\ 7p = 1 \\  \\ p =  \frac{1}{7}  \\  \\  \bf \: let \: us \: now \: check \: if \: the \: value \:  \\  \bf \: of \: p \: is \: right \\  \\ 10 - (3( \frac{1}{7})  - 4) = 4( \frac{1}{7}  + 1) + 9

10 -  \frac{3}{7}  + 4 =  \frac{4}{7}  + 4 + 9 \\  \\ 14 -  \frac{3}{7}  =  \frac{4}{7}  + 13 \\  \\  \frac{14 \times 7 - 3}{7}  =  \frac{4 + 13 \times 7}{7}  \\  \\  \frac{98 - 3}{7}  =  \frac{4 + 91}{7}  \\  \\  \frac{95}{7}  =  \frac{95}{7}

Hence, our calculation was correct.

If any doubt, please ask ;)
