Heart is a central pumping station of the blood vascular system. The chambers that recieves blood from various parts of the body is/are called auricles and the chambers that pump blood to all body parts are called ventricals.
The right auricle recieves only deoxygenated blood and the left ventricle recieves only oxygenated blood.
The left auricle recieves oxygenated blood from lungs and transfers it to the left ventricle, which pumps it to the entire body.

In human beings, the heart is situated between the two lungs and lies behind the sternum in the thorax. It is a hollow conical organ with its narrow apex pointing downwards to the left. The heart is surrounded by a sac, called Pericardium.

The human heart consist of four chambers, two auricles (Atria) and two ventricals. The right auricle recieves deoxygenated blood from all parts of body while left auricle receives oxygenated blood from lungs. Left and right auricle are separated by an interatrial septum.
Ventricals receives deoxygenated blood from the right auricle and the left ventricle recieves oxygenated blood from the left auricle. Two ventricals are separated by interventricular septum.

Each orifice between auricle and the corresponding ventricle remains guarded by an atrioventricular valve, The orifice of the pulmonary artery is guarded by pulmonary valve.

The contraction of a cardiac chamber are known as its Systole, The relaxation of a cardiac chamber are known as its diastole.
One Systole and one diastole constitute one complete heart beat. The heart of a healthy
adult at rest normally beats 70-75 times per minute.

The right side of the heart serves as one pump .It contains only deoxygenated blood recieves from the body and send to the lungs through pulmonary circulation. The left side of the heart serves as the second pump. It contains only oxygenated blood recieved from the lungs and sends to the body through systematic circulation, Thus, there is no mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood in the heart . The blood passes through the heart twice, once along the pulmonary circuit and second time in the systemic circuit. This type of circulation of blood is known as double circulation.

The double circulation allows a highly efficient supply of oxygen to the body organs. This is very useful for human beings who have high energy needs.
