[ii] Yes, the composition of ash is different from the magnesium ribbon. Magnesium combines with oxygen to form magnesium oxide which is completely different from the elemental magnesium.

[iii] Magnesium hydroxide is formed when the ash is mixed with water.

[iv] We can make the interference that this is oxidation and a chemical reaction where magnesium combines with oxygen to form magnesium oxide which is a base and turns red litmus blue.
