11. A fish tank measuring 80 cm by 40 cm contains water
to a height of 35 cm. Find
(i) the volume of water in the tank, giving your
answer in litres,
(ii) the surface area of the tank that is in contact
with the water, giving your answer in m².​

(I) volume of tank = l×b×h=80×40×35=112000cm^3

so,112000cm^3=112000÷1000=112liter.

(ii) surface area of tank with bottom=2(l+b)h+lb

=2×(80+40)×35+80×40=11600cm^2

in metres= 11600÷10000=1.16m^2
