the amount invested first was 80% of x.

the amount invested second was 20% of x since 100-80= 20.

simple interest = [principle ( money invested)*rate of interest * time]/100

=(80x*10*3)/100*100

(20x*5*2)/100*100

(80x*10*3)/100*100 - (20x*5*2)/100*100 = 3300

(24x-2x)/100=3300

22x/100=3300

x= 3300*100/22

x=15000

First investment = 80%*15000=12000

Second investment=20%*15000=3000

Answer=12000 and 3000
