Let the capacity of the tank be x litres.

Then one third of x will be

x*(1/3)= 80 litres

x= 240 litres (full capacity)

Now we have to find half of the tank capacity

mutiply full capacity by 1/2 than we will get half tank capacity

x*(1/2)= 240*(1/2)=120 litres

So quantity of water that half of the tank holds =120 litres.

Answer:

(c) 120 litres

Step-by-step explanation:

1/3 tank = 80 litres

1 tank = 80 x 3 litres

= 240 litres

1/2 tank = 240/2 litres

= 120 litres

So, option c is correct
