the ratio of milk and water in 60 litre mixture is 2:1

volume of milk = (2/3)*60 = 40 litre

volume of water = (1/3)*60 = 20 litre

let x litre of water is added

volume of water = 20 + x

now, ratio has to be 1:2

40/(20 + x) = 1/2

20 + x = 40*2

20 + x = 80

x = 80 - 20

x = 60 litre

option C

The current ratio of the whole mixture is 2 parts of milk and 1 part of water which is a total of 60litre. This gives 1 part to be 20 litre.for 1 part of milk and 2 parts of water twice the amount of milk.current amount of milk is 40litre. Twice amount of water is 80 litre. 80 litres is the required amount and 20 litre is the current amount. Thus by adding 60 litre of water you get the desired mixture. Hence the answer is c... best of luck
