Ans1) it will be projectile motion.

Ans2)during upward journey its velocity will decrease by 9.8m/s and during downward journey it will increase at the rate of 9.8m/s.

Ans3)during its downward journey

as u throw a stone prependicular to the ground , the initilal velocity of the stone being zero ( when in ur hand) as soon as u throw the stone it is accelerated ( its velocity increases) , now once acclerated , its vel starts decreasing due to grav pull acting on it (this acceeration that the stone has gained due to your throw is regarded as negative g ) now a point comes when the vel of stone gets zero ( means it no longer raises) now afterwards due to grav pull it starts falling down and its velocity constantly inc ( bcz due to acc due to grav , which means earth is providing a constant force )

Free fall is that moment when the stone after rising upto a certain hieght starts falling down

During free fall it is having positive acc
