●》Let the resistance of the broken wire be x
ohm

resultant resistance when both the wires
were connected in parallel = 6/8 ohm

when one where is being disconnected,
the effective resistance = 2ohm

this is equal to the resistance of other wire

5x = 6
x = 6/ 5 ohm
resistance of other wire is 6/ 5 ohm
