                    LENS FORMULA

                         1/v - 1/u= 1/f

where, v= distance of image form optical centre

            u= distance of  object form optical centre

           f= focal length of the lens

                 MIRROR FORMULA

                     1/u + 1/v= 1/f

where, u= object distance

            v= image distance

            f= focal length
