Let SP be 2X

Therefore discount given= X

MP=RS 50(given)

ATQ, 50-(x/100*50)=2x

Therefore, 50-X/2 =2x

(100-x)/2=2x

100-x=4x

100=5x

X=20

Therefore, SP=2x=2*20=40rs

Answer= Rs. 40

Answer:

The selling price of the article = Rs. 40

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Selling price of the article be 2x

⇒ Discount given on the article = x

The marked price of the article is given to be Rs. 50

Now, According to the condition given in the problem :

\implies 50 - (\frac{x}{100}\times 50)=2x\\\\\implies \frac{100-x}{2}=2x

⇒ 100 - x = 4x

⇒ 5x = 100

⇒ x = 20

Therefore, SP = 2x

                       = 2 × 20

                       = Rs. 40

Therefore, The selling price of the article = Rs. 40
