Answer:

1. First make 3 1/5 into a proper fraction=16/5=3.2

then make 406 2/5 into a proper fraction=817/5=163.4

If 1 student pays Rs.3.2

X students will pay Rs.163.4

1=3.2

X=163.4

so,X will be = 163.2/3.2

which will be = 51

2. Let Number be x.

Given 5-x = 18/13

=> 5-18/13 = x

=> 65-18/13= x

=> 47/13 = x.

Therefore 47/13 should be subtracted from 5 to get 18/13.
