Explanation:

let cost of 1 chair be x

cost of 1 table is y

12x+9y=4950------i ×4

5x+6y=2850------ii ×6

48x+36y=19800

-30x-36y=-17100

18x=2700

x=150

substituting in ii

5×150+6y=2850

750+6y=2850

6y=2100

y=350

Answer:

Cost of one chair is Rupees 150

Cost of one table is Rupees 350

Explanation:

Let the cost of 1 chair be x

Let the cost of 1 table be y

According to question:

12x + 9y = 4950----------------------------- eq 1 * 2

5x + 6y =  2850------------------------------eq 2 * 3

Solving by Elimination

24x +       18y = 9900

(-)15x (-)+ 18y = (-)8550

9x                   =  1350

x = 1350/9 = 150

Sub in eq 2

12 * 150 + 9y = 4950

1800 + 9y = 4950

9y = 4950 - 1800

y = 3150/9 = 350

Therefore, cost of one chair is Rupees 150

Therefore, cost of one table is Rupees 350

Thanks
