12. Consider two media A and B. The speed of light in medium A is 2.5x108 m/s
and in medium B is 2x108 m/s. [Speed of light in vacuum = 3x10 m/s]
(a) Find the absolute refractive index of medium A.
(b) Find the refractive index of medium B with respect to medium A.

Answer:

I think there is a mistake in the question....speed of light in vacuum is 3×10^8 m/s

Answer:

This is the concept . you can change the values accordingly

speed of light =speed in vacuum/refractive index

2x10^8=speed in vacuum of light/1.5

speed in vacuum of light=3x10^8m/s

now

speed in medium A=speed in vacuum/refractive index

=3x10^8/2=1.5x10^8m/s
