Subterranean caverns were said to be formed during the process of downcutting of valleys on the surface whereby cave travertines were said to be formed by the abandonment of a cavern level, sometimes extending multiple times, forming multiple levels

2)Chemical weathering describes the chemicals in rainwater making changes to the minerals in a rock. Carbon dioxide from the air is dissolved in rainwater making it slightly acidic. A reaction can occur when the rainwater comes into contact with minerals in the rock, causing weathering.
