Answer:

12 MENS COMPLETE WORK = 18 DAYS

TOTAL WORK ==> 12*18 ==> 216

===> SIX DAYS ==> 12*6 ==> 72

SO, 216-72 ==> 144

SO, AFTER 6 DAYS ==> 12+1 ==> 13

SO, ANSWER ==> 144/13

Let the work completed by 1 man in 1 day be y.

So, the total work = 12 X 18 X y = 216y

12 men worked for 6 days, so total work
completed = 12 X 6 X y = 72y

Remaining work = 144y

Total men now = 12 + 4 = 16

Work done in a day = 16y

Days required = Total work/Work in a day
= 144y/16y

= 9days
