As we know that red light possesses higher wavelength so having low energy while for an ejection of electron from metal surfaces it needs to be minimum energy which is known as threshold Energy. For an ejection of ejection of electron from metal surface threshold Energy of striking light should be greater than the threshold Energy of metal from which electron has to be eject but red light do no fulfill the above required condition .
In case of UV ray , having low wavelength and possesses high energy due to possession of higher energy UV Ray is capable to eject electron from Zn metal surface but Red light is not.
