here is we take the no of men then......
no of days the work will take to complete when no of men is 12=14

therefore no of days the work will take to complete when no of men is 1= 12*14(inverse proportion)

therefore no of days the work will take to complete when no of men is 8
= 12*14÷8
=7*3= 21 days

therefore the work will be completed in 21 days
