Explanation:

the height = 16 cm

radius of cylinder = 1 cm

radius of the sphere = ?

as we know that , if a solid converts into another solid then only its shape is changed but volumes of both the solids are equal .

so,

volume of 12 spheres = volume of cylinder

12*4/3πr²h = πr²h

4*4πr²16 = π * 1² * 16

π and 16 are cancelled from both of the sides

then,

r² = 1/16

r = √1/16

= 1/4

=0.25 cm

acq,

diameter of the base = 2*r

= 2*0.25

= 0.5 cm
