Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of students = 48

Ratio of boys : girls = 3:1

So total number of boys = 3/4 × 48 = 36

total number of girls = 1/4 × 48 = 12

Now, let the number of girls to be added be x

New ratio of boys : girls (ATQ) = 3:2

No. of boys = 36

No. of girls = 12 + x

=》 36 / 12 + x = 3/2

=》 36 × 2 = 3 ( 12 + x) ( cross multiplication)

=》 72 = 36 + 3x

=》 72 - 36 = 3x

=》 36 = 3x

=》 x = 36 / 3

=》x = 12

Therefore the number of girls to be added to make the ratio 3 : 2 = 12.

I hope this helps you. If you find this answer satisfactory then please give me five stars. Thank you☺
