1200 soldiers in a fort had enough food for 28 days. After 4 days, some soldiers were sent to another fort and thus, the food lasted for 32 more days. How many soldiers left the fort ? direct and inverse proportion

Answer:

1200 soldiers = 28 days

after 4 days,

1200 soldiers = 24 days

1 soldier = 1200 * 24 days

soldiers for 32 days = 1200 * 24 / 32

= 300 * 3 = 900

therefore soldiers left the fort = 1200 - 900 = 300
