● (12x-0.5y=2.2) ×(-2.8)

● 2.3x+1.4=0.5

○ WE MULTIPLIED -2.8 BY THE FIRST EQUATION SO THAT WE CAN CANCEL BOTH VALUES OF Y

-33.6x+1.4y=6.16

2.3x+1.4y=0.5

-31.3x=6.66

x= -0.21

○WE FIRST CALCULATED THE VALUE OF X, THEN WE WILL SUBSTITUTE THIS VALUE IN YHE SECOND EQUATION TO WORK FOR Y

2.3 (-0.21)+1.4y=0.5

1.4y=0.5+0.483

y=0.983/1.4

y=0.7
