Given :

  • Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s (as its starts from rest)
  • Distance (s) = 10 m
  • Time (t) = 2 seconds

To find :

  • Acceleration (a)

According to the question,

By using Newtons second equation of motion,

s = ut + ½ at²

Where,

  • s = Distance
  • u = Initial velocity
  • t = Time
  • a = Acceleration

→ 10 = 0 × 2 + ½ × a × 2 × 2

→ 10 = 0 + 2a

→ 10 - 0 = 2a

→ 10 = 2a

→ 10 ÷ 2 = a

→ 5 = a

.°. The acceleration is 5 m/s²...

More details :-

Acceleration :-

Acceleration of a body can be defined as the rate of change of velocity per unit time.

  • SI unit is m/s²

  • Formula for acceleration = v - u/t

  • Acceleration is vector quantity.
