13. The cost of making a fence around a square field is rupees 480 at the rate of rupees 12 per metre. What is the length of each side of the field?​

The fencing is done at the perimeter of square ... hence,

Total cost of fencing / cost of fencing per m

= parameter of square .

Now,

Cost of fencing = 480 rupee

Cost per m = 12 rs/m

Parameter of square = 480/12 = 40m

Now, as we know parameter of square is given by,

Parameter = 4a ( A is side of square)

As calculated, parameter = 40m

So,

40 = 4a

a = 40/4 = 10m.

So,

Lenght of each side is 10m
