Given:-

  • Price of an article is ₹1050.

  • Increase rate in price of article is 12.5%.

To Find:-

  • New price of that article ?

Solution:-

Here, Price of article is ₹1050 and,

Rate of increase is 12.5%.

So, Amount increased ⇒ ₹ ( 1050 + 1050 × 12.5% )

                                     ⇒ ₹ ( 1050 + 1050 × \dfrac{12.5}{100} )

                                    ⇒ ₹ ( 1050 + 105 × 1.25 )

                                     ⇒ ₹ ( 1050 + 131.25 )

                                     ⇒ ₹1181.25

Hence, New Price of that Article is ₹1181.25

Some important terms:-

  • In the condition of increase in rate = ( Original price + Original price × \dfrac{Change\ in\ rate}{100} )

  • In the condition of decrease in rate = ( Original price - Original price × \dfrac{Change\ in\ rate}{100} )
