The seasons result from the Earth's axis being tilted to its orbital plane; it deviates by an angle of approximately 23.5 degrees. ... The equatorial regions do not expierence the same degree of tilt (really no tilt) that either the southern or northern hemispheres do. Thus along the equator the seasons vary to a mininum.
