LHS means left hand side and RHS means right hand side,

here given, 14 = 27- y

then LHS = 14 and RHS = 27 - y

also 14 = 27 - y

⇒ 14 - 27 = -y [ when any term moves from LHS to RHS then they change their sign. e.g., if term is in positive then after changing position, sign will be negative in front of it]

⇒ y = 13

Hi ,

14 = 27 - y is a Linear equation in one

variable y .

Left Hand Side ( L.H.S ) = 14

Right Hand Side ( R.H.S ) = 27 - y

Solving given equation :

14 = 27 - y

14 - 27 = -27 + 27 - y

- 13 = -y

multiply both sides of the equation with ( - 1 ),

we get ,

13 = y

Therefore ,

y = 13

I hope this helps you.
