Building are not made of good conductors in order to provide safety to people who will reside in the building. Therefore, lightning conductor is necessary for a building to provide safety during thunderstorms.
But, if building are made of good conductors there would be no use of lightning conductor. Constructing a building with good conductor such as copper, iron or silver is very cost effective process.
