Answer:

when you heat ice, it melts and water is formed. This can be stated as H2O changing from solid state to liquid state.

H2O (solid) ⇒Δ H2O (liquid)

If you heat this further more, the water will be evaporated and water vapour would be formed. This is the change of H2O from liquid state to gaseous state.

H2O (liquid) ⇒Δ H2O (gas)
