14. The area of a rectangle is 650 cm²
and its width is 13 cm. Find the perimeter of the
rectangle. Also, calculate its area if the length of the rectangle is 15% more than its
width.
Answers
Given :
- Area of a rectangle , A = 650 cm²
- Width of a rectangle , b = 13 cm
To Find
- Perimeter of a rectangle
- Area of rectangle , if the length of the rectangle is 15% more than itswidth.
Solution :
1) We have to find the perimeter of the rectangle
We have ,
Area of rectangle , A = 650 cm²
Width of rectangle , b = 13 cm
Let the length of rectangle be ' l '
We know that
Put the given values
Now ,
Perimeter
Therefore, the perimeter of rectangle is 126 cm
2) We have to find Area of rectangle if the length of the rectangle is 15% more than its
width.
Width , b = 13 cm
15% of the width =0.15 x 13 =1.95
Thus , length = 13 + 1.95 = 14.95 cm
Now , Area of rectangle
Therefore , the new area is 194.35 cm².
Answer:
Given :-
- The area of a rectangle is 650 cm² and its width is 13 cm.
Find Out :-
- Find the perimeter of the rectangle. Also calculate it's area if the length of the rectangle is 15% more than its width.
Solution :-
⓵ Given in the question :
✫ Area = 650 cm²
✫ Breadth or width = 13 cm
First we find the length,
We know that,
✪ Area = Length × Breadth ✪
ATQ,
↦ 650 = Length × 13
↦ 650 = 13 Length
↦ = Length
↦ 50 = Length
➡ Length = 50 cm
Now, we find the perimeter,
We know that,
➛ Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)
➛ Perimeter = 2(50 + 13)
➛ Perimeter = 2(63)
➦ Perimeter = 126 cm
⓶ Given in the question,
- If the length of the rectangle is 15% more than its width.
We have,
- Breadth = 13 cm, then it will be 15 ÷ 100 × 13 = 1.95 cm.
- Then, length = 13 + 1.95 = 14.95 cm
Now,
We know that,
⇒ Area = Length × Breadth
⇒ Area = 14.95 × 13
➛ Area = 194.35 cm ²
The area is 194.35 cm².
