Given : curve y² = 8x

To Find :  Equation of the normal to the curve y² = 8x at the origin

Solution:

y² = 8x

=> 2y dy/dx  = 8

=> dy/dx  = 4/y

Slope of tangent  = 4/y

Slope of normal = - y/4

origin  ( 0 , 0)

y = 0

Hence Slope of normal at y = 0   is  =  -0/4  =  0

Slope of normal  = 0

Equation of normal

y  - 0  = 0 ( x - 0)

=> y = 0

y = 0  is the Equation of normal   to the curve y²= 8x at the origin is
