15. A body freely falling from the rest has a velocity 'V' after it
falls through a height'h. The distance it has to fall down for
its velocity to become double, is
(a) 2h
(b) 4h

Answer:

4h should be the distance to fall

Explanation:

taking downward direction as positive,

given:

intial velocity (u)=0

displacement (S)=h

velocity after h disp(v1)=V

acceleration (a)=g

we know ,

v²=u²+2aS

V²=0²+2gh

h=V²/2g

so,when V becomes 2V.

then,

H=4V²/2g

H=4*V²/2g

H=4h
