Given t 1 = t /2
v 1 = 40 km / hr
t 2 = t / 2
v 2 = 60 km / hr
As we know that average speed = total distance / total time
d 1 = v 1 * t 1
d 2 = v 2 * t 2
Total distance = d 1 + d 2
Total time = t 1 + t 2
Average speed = (40 * t/2 + 60 * t/2 )÷( t/2 + t/2 )
= 50 km/ hr
v 1 = 40 km / hr
t 2 = t / 2
v 2 = 60 km / hr
As we know that average speed = total distance / total time
d 1 = v 1 * t 1
d 2 = v 2 * t 2
Total distance = d 1 + d 2
Total time = t 1 + t 2
Average speed = (40 * t/2 + 60 * t/2 )÷( t/2 + t/2 )
= 50 km/ hr
