Question:-

15. Area of quadrilateral whose d = 5.5 cm, h1 = 2.5 cm, h2 = 1.5 cm

a. 11 cm2

b. 12 cm2

c. 13 cm2

d. 14 cm2

Given:-

The given quadrilateral is trapezium as perpendicular height (d) and two parallel sides (h1 and h2) are given.

perpendicular height (d) = 5.5cm

first parallel side (h1) = 2.5cm

second parallel side (h2) = 1.5cm

To find:-

The area of the quadrilateral.

Formula:-

area \: of \: the \: quadrilateral \: (trapezium) \: \\ = \frac{1}{2} \times perpendicular \: height \times (sum\: of\: the\: two\: parallel \:sides)

Solution:-

=>\frac{1}{2}  \times d \times (h1 + h2)

Putting the value of d, h1 and h2.

 = \frac{1}{2} \times 5.5 \: cm \times (2.5 \: cm + 1.5 \: cm) \\ \\ = \frac{1}{2} \times 5.5 \: cm \times \: 4.0 \: cm \\ \\ = 5.5 \: cm \times \: 2 \: cm \\ \\ = 11.0 \: cm²

Answer:-

The area of the quadrilateral is 11.0 cm².

Therefore, option a.) is correct option.
