hence, the ratio of their ages will be 10:7.Find their present ages.​

Ratio of Ages After 5 Years - 10 : 7

To Find :

The Present Ages

Solution :

Let, The Present Ages be x ( Ratio ) - 5x : 3x

\dashrightarrow \sf \: Ratio \: of \: Present \: Ages \:  = 5x : 3x \\  \\

\dashrightarrow \sf \: Ratio \: of \: Ages \: after \: 5 \: years \:  = 10 : 7 \\  \\

\dashrightarrow \sf \:ie \:  \:  \cfrac{5x  + 5}{3x + 5} =  \cfrac{10}{7} \\  \\

\dashrightarrow \sf \: (5x + 5) \times7 = (3x + 5) \times 10 \\  \\

\dashrightarrow \sf \: 35x + 35 = 30 + 50 \\  \\

\dashrightarrow \sf \: 35x - 30x = 50 - 35 \\  \\

\dashrightarrow \sf \: 5x = 15 \\  \\

\dashrightarrow \sf \: x =  \frac{15}{5}  \\  \\

\dashrightarrow \sf \: x = 3 \\  \\

ie, X = 3

Present Ages are :
