An object travels from A to B with a uniform speed of 30 km/hr and returns back with a speed of 20 km/hr. Its average speed is 24 km/h

Explanation:

Let the distance between A to B is d

Then the time taken in traveling from A to B = d/30 hr

Time taken in traveling from B to A = d/20

We know that

Average Speed = Total Distance/Total Time

Thus,

Average Speed

=\frac{2d}{(\frac{d}{30}+\frac{d}{20})}

=\frac{2}{\frac{2+3}{60}}

=\frac{2\times 60}{5} km/h

=24 km/h

Hope this answer is helpful.
