1. It will not protect the inner lining of stomach from secretion of HCL and pepsin.

2. It will not traps inhaled particles.

3. It will also lead to erosion of inner lining of stomach which may cause acidity and ulcer.

actually mucous secretion protects our mucosal layer of stomach from secreting HCL. most of the mucous are secreting from cardia of lower esophageal sphincter and pyrolic antrum. so if there is a problem in secretion cause Barret esophagus, deodenal ulcer, peptic ulcer and erosion
