Answer:

One day work of 16 men is 121.

One day work of 24 children is 181.

One men's one day work is 12×161.

One child's one day work is 24×181.

One day work of 12 men and 8 children is 12×1612+24×188.

One day work = 54×835.

Work done in 8 days = 8×54×835=5435.

Remaining work = 1−5435=5419.

The remaining work is 12× one men's one day work + 11× one child's one day work.

Hence, 12×12×161+11×24×18

One day work multiplied by number of days to complete remaining work =  remaining work

Therefore, the work is done in 4 days.

(161+2411×18)x=5419

⇒x=4

Thus they take 4 days to complete the remaining work.
