Given

  • Work = 160 J
  • Force Applied = 20 N

To Find

  • Distance covered and the direction in which the body moves

Solution

Work = Force × Displacement

If the work done is positive then the body moves in the direction of force and if the work done is negative then the body moves against the force.

Distance Covered :

→ Work = Force × Displacement

→ 160 = 20 × Displacement

→ 160/20 = Displacement

→ 16/2 = Displacement

→ Displacement = 8 m

  • As the work and the distance covered are positive then the body would move along the direction in which the force is applied

160joule work is done when a force of 20N acts on the objects. Calculate the distance through which the object moves and also state in which direction it will move.

Given::

•Work Done =160J

•Force Applied=20N

To find

•Calculate the distance through which

the object.

moves and state its direction.

\huge{\boxed{\bold{Añswer}}}

Distance(S)=8m

Calculation

Work done =s=FS cosx

x is the angle between F and s vector.

x=0°(As it in straight line)

•Since no angle is given ,avoid

work done =Fs cosx

So,

Work done =F×s

=160J=F×s

=160J=20N×s

=S=160J/20

=S=8m

hence,

Distance (S)=8m
