(16a - 3b) - (2a + b) + (3a) + (a - b)

Remove brackets:

= 16a - 3b - 2a - b + 3a + a - b

Group the "a"s and "b"s together:

= 16a -2a + 3a + a - 3b - b - b

Combine like terms:

= 18a - 5b

Answer: 18a - 5b
