then number =100x+10y+z

Number formed on reversing digits =100z+10y+x

Difference of these numbers=100x+10y+z-(100z+10y+x)=198

= 99x-99z =

99(x-z)=198

x-z=198/99=2

Thus x-z =2

Thus difference of first and last digit=2
