Given :

  • The resistance 2 ohm,4 ohm and 8 ohm are connected in parallel connection

To find :

  • equivalent resistance

Formula used :

For parallel connection Req is given as :-

 \dfrac{1}{Req}  =  \dfrac{1}{R1}  +  \dfrac{1}{R2}  +  \dfrac{1}{R3} ........

Where :-

  • Req = equivalent resistance

  • R1 , R2 , R3 = Resistance of different resistors are connected in parallel connection

Solution :

The resistance 2 ohm,4 ohm and 8 ohm are connected in parallel connection

We know that :-

\implies \: \dfrac{1}{Req}  =  \dfrac{1}{R1}  +  \dfrac{1}{R2}  +  \dfrac{1}{R3} ........

Now put :-

  • R1 = 2
  • R2 = 4
  • R3 = 8

\implies \: \dfrac{1}{Req}  =  \dfrac{1}{2}  +  \dfrac{1}{4}  +  \dfrac{1}{8}

LCM of 2,4 and 8 = 8

\implies \: \dfrac{1}{Req}  =  \dfrac{4 + 2 + 1}{2}

\implies \: \dfrac{1}{Req}  =  \dfrac{7}{2}

\implies \: {Req}  =    \dfrac{2}{7}

Answer :

{Req}  =    \dfrac{2}{7}  \: ohm
