170+(x-y)=130+(y-x)
170 + x - y = 130 + y - x
170 - 130 + x + x = y + y
2x + 40 = 2y
2x - 2y + 40 = 0
2( x - y + 20) = 0
x - y + 20 = 0 .......(1)
From (1)
x - y + 20 = 0
x = y - 20.....(2)
x + 20 = y.....(3)
Substitute (2)...in (1)
x - y + 20 = 0
y - 20 -y + 20 = 0
0 = 0
So x = y-20 ; y = x + 20
170 + x - y = 130 + y - x
170 - 130 + x + x = y + y
2x + 40 = 2y
2x - 2y + 40 = 0
2( x - y + 20) = 0
x - y + 20 = 0 .......(1)
From (1)
x - y + 20 = 0
x = y - 20.....(2)
x + 20 = y.....(3)
Substitute (2)...in (1)
x - y + 20 = 0
y - 20 -y + 20 = 0
0 = 0
So x = y-20 ; y = x + 20
