17th century was an age of splendor in which all round development took place. The rulers themselves were great patrons.

1.The nobles and officials lived in luxury and comfort. The income of the state got increased.

2. During this period architecture, painting, music and literature developed to a great extent. Especially during Shah Jahan’s reign, architecture had reached its zenith. Jahangir was an all round patron and art critic.

3.17th century produced good writers and scholars. Works like Akbarnama, Tuzuk-i-Jahangir, and Masir-i-Jahangiri were written during this period.

This century was comparatively an age of peace and prosperity.
