percentage on whole transaction is - 6.666% (loss)

Step-by-step explanation:

Selling price of two chairs , SP = SP_1 + SP_2

SP = 600 + 600 = 1200

He gained 25 % profit,

Then,

125 % = 600

100 % = \frac{600}{125}\times 100

100 % = \frac{60000}{125}

100 % = 480

Cost price of one chair is Rs.480/-

He loss 25 % on other chairs,

75 % = 600

100 % = \frac{600}{75}\times 100

100% = \frac{60000}{75}

100% = 800

Cost price of the other chairs is Rs.800/-

Gain or loss = selling price of two chairs  - cost price of two chairs

                    = 1200 - 1280

                    = - 80 (loss)

Loss percentage on the whole transaction = \frac{80}{1200}\times 100

= 6.6667 % (loss)
