Answer:

19: Let the rational between the length and breadth be x

Thus the length of the rectangle is 3x and breadth of rectangle is 2x

Perimeter = 2 ( length + breadth)

Perimeter = 50 cm.

50 cm = 2 (3x + 2x)

50 cm = 2 × 5x

10x = 50

x = 50/10

x = 5

The rational is 5. Hence the dimensions of rectangle

Length of rectangle 3x = 3 × 5 = 15 cm.

Breadth of rectangle 2x = 2 × 5 = 10 cm.

Answer: Length of rectangle is 15 cm. and Breadth of rectangle is 10 cm.

18: Let X be point along SR in rectangle PQRS, where PQ=SR=40 and QR=PS=15, and all the interior angles are 90 degrees.

Triangle QRX is isosceles because angle QXR= angle RQX =90/2=45 degrees. So XR=QR=15, and SX=40-XR= 40–15=25.

Hence required ratio of SX/XR= 25/15= 5/3.

20:angle b + angle c = 180

angle c = 180 - angle b

180-45=135 degree

angle c = 135 degree

angle a + angle d = 180

angle d=180-45

angle d=135 degree
