a - b = 7

ab = 9

Squaring both side, we get,

(a - b)^{2}  = 49

Or,

 {a}^{2}  - 2ab +  {b}^{2}  = 49

Putting the value of ab, we get,

 {a}^{2}  + b^{2}  - 2 \times 9 = 49

Or,

 {a}^{2}  + b^{2}  = 49 + 18

Or,

 {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}  = 67

Therefore, the answer is 67.

I think you made a typo... So, the correct ques will be

 {( {a }^{2}  + b)}^{2}
